Shopify SEO, done for you
Shopify is fast to launch and quietly hostile to SEO. The default URL structure duplicates every product, collection pages ship with no copy, and most themes bury your h1. We fix all of it, then publish 10 articles a month to your store. $299 a month, cancel whenever.
What's actually wrong with your Shopify store
These are not hypotheticals. They are the defaults. Almost every Shopify store we look at has most of this list, and none of it is your fault — it is how the platform ships.
Every product exists at two URLs
Shopify serves each product at /products/handle and again at /collections/name/products/handle. Without a correct canonical tag, Google sees duplicates of your entire catalogue and splits the ranking signals between them. Multiply that by every collection a product belongs to.
Collection pages have no words on them
The default collection template is a grid of products and nothing else. Collection pages target your highest-value category keywords and Google has almost nothing to read on them. This is usually the single biggest missed opportunity on a Shopify store.
Variant URLs create endless near-duplicates
Every ?variant= parameter is a crawlable URL serving nearly identical content. Left alone this burns crawl budget and dilutes the product page you actually want ranking.
Filtered and sorted URLs get indexed
Faceted navigation generates a URL for every filter combination. Without robots and canonical handling, Google indexes thousands of thin pages and your real pages compete against them.
Product descriptions are the manufacturer's
If you dropship or resell, your descriptions are identical to every other store selling that product. There is no reason for Google to rank you over them. Rewriting these is unglamorous and it works.
Discontinued products 404 and lose their links
Products get archived and their URLs die, along with any links and rankings they had earned. These should redirect to the closest live product or the parent collection, not disappear.
The theme is slow and the app stack made it slower
Every app injects scripts. Ten apps later your Core Web Vitals are failing on mobile, which is where most of your traffic is. We identify what is costing you and what can be removed.
Product and review schema is missing or broken
Correct Product, Offer and AggregateRating markup is what puts price and star ratings into your search result. Missing it means a plain blue link next to competitors showing stars and prices.
How we run it
No onboarding call unless you want one. No weekly status meeting. The work happens and you approve it.
Audit before you pay
We crawl your store, pull your current rankings, check what your competitors rank for that you do not, and run your brand through ChatGPT to see what it says about you. You get the findings whether or not you sign up.
Technical fixes documented
Every issue above, checked against your store, with the specific fix written out — the Liquid change, the canonical rule, the redirect map. You or your developer apply them, or we walk through them with you.
Keyword plan agreed
Buyer-intent terms for your products and categories, with real search volume and ranking difficulty against your current authority. We show you the whole list and what we would target first.
10 articles a month, published
Researched against the pages already ranking, written for your products, with schema and internal links to the collections and products they should feed. Published to your store. You approve each one first.
Questions
Can you fix the duplicate product URL problem without breaking my store?
Yes. It is a canonical tag change in the product template plus consistent internal linking to the /products/ URL. It is low risk and it is usually the highest-value single fix on a Shopify store. We give you the exact change, and we will not touch your live theme without your say-so.
Do I need to install another Shopify app?
No. We work from your public store and your search data. If anything, part of what we do is tell you which of your existing apps are slowing the site down enough to cost you rankings.
Do you publish to my store directly?
Yes, once you have approved the drafts. If you would rather keep publishing in-house we can hand over finished articles instead — same 10 a month, same price.
Do you work with Shopify Plus?
Yes. Plus stores usually have more collection depth and more international routing, which makes the canonical and hreflang work more valuable rather than less. The price is the same.
